While the use of model rockets is not inherantly dangerouse, buyers of model rocket products on this site should be aware that there are governing regulations that control the use of model rockets in the United States.
These include the regulations for each state and local authority that are based on the
NFPA Code 1122 (National Fire Protection Association). Also the FAA has regulations regarding airspace usage during model rocket launches. This is contained in the
FAA regulations FAR part 101. In addition to these there are safety rules governing the hobby that can be obtained by going to the web page of the
National Association of Model Rocketry.
The following purchase age guidelines are part and not necessarily whole for most states.
Purchasers of model rocket motors A-D must be 14 years or older.
Purchasers of model rocket motors E-G must be 18 years or older.
